Small ways to meditate throughout the day

Meditation is one of the best ways to improve your mindfulness and stay calm when dealing with life's hardest challenges. However, it can be difficult to find time for meditation when you have a busy day. Many people don't like traditional meditation, but there are plenty of unique ways to meditate. Here are some small ways to practice meditation and mindfulness in your daily life.

Use guided meditation podcasts

Many people struggle with silent meditation, but a guided meditation can be easier to process and manage. There are plenty of guided meditation podcasts and YouTube videos that you can use, and many of them are short enough to listen to on your lunch break or during your commute.

Take a walk

Getting outside is a great way to calm your mind and meditate. While you're walking, focus on your breath and your posture, and think about enjoying the movement. You can also use the beauty of the world around you as a focal point, processing the sights, sounds, and smells of your atmosphere.

Practice yoga poses

Yoga is a very meditative practice, and even if you don't have time to do a full yoga session in the morning, a few poses can get you feeling good for the day. While doing any yoga pose, focus on your breath and maintaining your alignment for a meditative effect. Not only can yoga help you relax, but it can also help you manage physical soreness and tension.

Find a cosy space at work

Taking breaks during the day to meditate just for five minutes can make a big difference in your stress levels throughout the day. However, it can be difficult to meditate when you're surrounded by coworkers and clients. Try to find a comfortable place at work that you can designate for meditation when you need a break. This could be just a comfy chair in your office, a spot in the break room, or even a place outside. Finding small ways to meditate during your day can help improve your confidence and motivation.
